Marli has been balancing her analytical and creative sides since she was a girl. She grew up on an orchard in the South Okanagan and started cashiering at farmers markets at the young age of 10. It may have been this early introduction into arithmetic that lead Marli to major in mathematics for her bachelor of science degree, but she could never shake her passion for the arts.
Marli started off her secondary career in arts by gifting watercolour portraits to her friends and family, which lead to commission requests. She opened up her Etsy shop to sell custom watercolour portraits in the Spring of 2021.
She is beginning her live event artist journey in 2022!
Training
While Marli does not have any formal education in arts, she has always been crafty. Marli always has a project on the go, whether it is sewing, needle felting, or painting. She inherited her artsy side from her grandma Isobel MacLaurin, who is a professional artist in Whistler BC as well as her grandad Ken Mounsey who painted wonderful watercolour landscapes.
